All the answers given are fine, but you also need to realize that healthy hair comes from a healthy body. So a good multi-vitamin (balanced and all-inclusive) will also help, since if your body is functioning well your hair will be healthy as well.
Nutrilite's Doublex is my choice.

Biotin supposedly works wonders. Its a kind of vitamin B. Vitamin E also works well for skin and hair.

Well definetly vitamin c which keeps the hair healthy (ex.dark green vegetables, citrus fruits, strawberries) Also Vitamin B12 will help to prevent hair loss, though it does have a side affect, it gives you an incredible amount of energy.

If your looking to get your nails harder and your hair healthier, try prenatal vitamins, or a all in one vitamin. They work great!! And no, the prenatal one wont get you pregnant. ha ha

Biotin is good for hair, skin and nails. It is available in the "B vitamin section" of your local pharmacy.
