Bourbonnais is about 45 minutes south of Chicago. It's right next to Kankakee.

Geez. Are you in the wrong category? lol

Salvia ( always capitalize the genus for binomial nomenclature) dividorium.

You have a history of asking this question, don't you?

Part of your problem might be that you are mispelling the species name. It might be Salvia divinorum.

That is the name of a powerful hallucinogen GROWN IN MEXICO.

Apparently it likes shade like the mints- which are the cousins of sages (salvia's)

EDIT: Just to let you know, Salvias tend to bloom a lot. You need to get the seed from the dried bloom. You need to give it just enough sun to allow a bloom-- morning sun is best. I suggest growing it in pots so that you can move it around if it doesn't like it where you put it.

If it is more like the mints in the same family, it will prefer moist soil- most potting soils are Ph balanced and that should be fine unless you find out that it prefers acidic soil- then use a peat based soil. From my expereince, I find that salvias and mints are pretty hardy-- but not cold hardy.

I don't live in that area, but most adult novelty stores in my area carry it.
