For those responding along the lines of "why would you"
Is your faith so easily swayed that mere investigations are apt to sway it? I am sure most of you will answer no.. but now i wonder.

I have. I was raised in a Christian home, and when I was 16 I was having doubts and questions. So I looked into EVERYTHING. I researched Buddha, Islam, the Suphies, Satansim, Wicca, the list goes on. After that, I spent the next 5, almost 6 years of my life practicing witchcraft. I took it very seriously and became a High Priestess with my own coven. I like to learn about what other people believe, just for the knowledge. When I was 21 I underwent a life altering experience that destroyed all the lies I had surrounded myself with and exposed me to the truth. I have returned to my original faith of Christianity, though I'm a little more eclectic then most. I like to challenge myself in my faith, because I have no right to believe what I do if I'm not willing to stand against the opposition and support my faith. I know alot of Christians that have looked into many religions as well, and I know several Churches that don't like people looking into religion. I think that's wrong and it should be encouraged. People should have knowledge and make an informed decision on what they will believe and what rings true in their own heart.

I have looked into it, i wanted to know why something so negative would attract people. Usually Satanists are
ex-wiccans who didn't get their fill there. They are usually lonely and by nature rebellious and get there fill in the mysterious aura of satanism. They find him comfortable and dangerous. Historically satanists have included the mistress of Louis XIV. An outsider working her way into political power. In the sixties came the development of Satanism as a religion. They do not actually worship the devil, but they worship gluttonous behavior. Its sort of live on a whim religion. They simply worship themselves and the 'black mass' is a perfect example of this. The first child born into satanism was the son of the 'black pope' who played the devil in the cult classic "Rosemary's Baby." Most satanists do not kill, the only evidence of this are 'repressed' memories brought out by psychologists.

Hello, Shake...:
I also find people leary of learning truths that might warn them of Satan's tactics. Recall that Satan offered our Savior the world, and yes, those who accept the goodies have, to quote Jesus, already received their reward.
Last year I happened upon a page that describes one persons miraculous escape from the highest level of Satanism. Satan still offers the world to those who worship Him--that is right, He wants our homage. You will find it very interesting because Satan actually told some of his plans for the future--let us beware.
Blessings, One-Way

I have looked. I have learned a little about spiritual warfare and different possessing and oppressing spirits. I am unafraid of any truth. It is not hard to understand why someone would worship satan. He took a third of the angels from paradise with him and has millions more minions walking the earth. Thank God for the Holy Spirit.

I'm going to go with... not many. As a Christian, you aren't encouraged to look into any other belief system except Christianity. They are afraid if you understand what someone else believes you may be swayed in your faith and leave the church.

Which one? I looked into Leveyan Santism. That one is not about worshipping Satan. I would direct you to my source. Wikipedia.com has the lowdown on that. Also, I talked to a Satanist from YouTube.com- if you look up PirateEire she likes to talk about it.

Good heavens Why would you.
Take alook around you don't you see enough evil with out dabbling in something that's been around since the birth of Christ. If its not mumbo jumbo and its witchcraft etc what else is there.
We are all in the middle of it.There is no need to worship it him / her or wonder about it either. It's in our every day living.
I wish I could say there are more good and soulfull humans than bad, sadly there isn't .

I have. To be honest, it all nauseated me. I can see why satanism would appeal to people......it's all a bed of roses to hear them tell it. But it never appealed to me because the whole thing is just ugly compared to real Christianity.

I seriously wonder what you mean by that question, or why it would be a question to you at all.
Btw. there isnt only one way to worship him.
Its somewhat like christianity and there are several different believes and different "churches".
Knowing about it never changed my point of view.
I came to realize that he copies god by all means, his name "Lucifer" actually means "Light bringer" which most people dont know and hes said to be of awesome appearance.
Nevertheless I prefer to serve Christ.
