I've been taking 30 mg each evening for a little over two years. I'm thinking I may be experiencing some side effects, and would like to stop taking it to see what happens. Should I quit all at once or taper?

Actually, I've tried quitting all at once and I got sick to my stomach, but I'm not sure if that was the cause.

Prevacid is a proton pump inhibitor and once you stop it will take a 2 to 3 days for your proton pumps in your stomach to start working again (aka the acid to start being produced again). You can stop it all at once.
If you stopped previously and got sick, it most likely will happen again. There are several medication in this medication class that you could switch to if you are experiencing problems with Prevacid, such as Aciphex, Protonix, Nexium, and Prilosec OTC. You could talk to your doctor about a switch or try Prilosec and see if that works for you.
Hope that helped!
