It has a crack about 6inches long now, is there anything I can do to patch it up until I get $ to have it replaced?

No in most cases it will just get longer and bigger especially if it is cold where you live. Check with your insurance carrier to see if you have glass coverage.

You could try this product to stop crack However, this product not for"Note: Windshield Glass Repair Kit not intended for use on heavy damage." ( from site I sourced). I junk yard windshield would good but You have put it In yourself or pay some else to do it

I don't think you can fix a crack, but you may be able to keep it from spreading. Take a glass cutter and make a small scratch crosswise to the crack, right at the end of the crack. This will often prevent a crack from spreading.

only chips can be fixed and if you need a new windscreen like me the only real chance of getting one cheap is to source one from a wrecker or see if your local windscreen place might have one as a second hand unit but you will have to get a new rubber seal and you can buy a "after market" unit instead of a ford genuine part as this will cost less and is almost identical to the original unit

actually glass companies can fix cracks. It might even be cheaper. Otherwise call your local junk yard to see if they can install you one for half the price of new.

Otherwise just leave it be and hope the police doesn't see it. Especially if it's over the drivers view.

just wait till you can have it replaced. go to a glass shop and see if they have a used windshield mite save you money.

If it is cracked you can call safelight to get an estimate.
