You run the risk of your dad telling you to stop seeing the guy, but it is so important that you develop some kind of relationship between whoever you date and your dad. This is vital as it helps you develop a healthy relationship that can be built upon, rather than doing things secretly and without support. Relationships are hard and having parents wisdom is so necessary, not just for teens, but for adults as well. If you seriously like this guy, then you will plan with your boyfriend to meet your family and your father. You sound young, so your perspective might be quite limited, as you get more experience, you'll understand the reasoning behind this more and more. Especially as you understand how relationships work. Good luck!

Knowing parents ur dad may already know... it's best you withdraw from your emotinons and ease into the conversation with him.... be sure to let him know how much you like the guy and how he respects you... that is if he does i don't know im guessing... but be honest if your not your dad may find out on his own and may never trust you again.

Since you don't give you age I have no idea how your dad is going to react either. For instance ARE you old enough to date?

there's something about dad's and daughters.

your best bet is to just come on out and tell him. If you're dating this guy, you need parental advice I think. You need to open the lines of communications.

if you talk to your dad like you are mature and old enough to handle a relationship...if your dad trusts you...then you can just tell him and ask him if its alright with him...depends on how old you are..
