Get a copy of IRS Pub 15, Circular E, Employer's Tax Guide, from the IRS website. It has the formulae and tables for withholding in it. It's far too complex to try to reproduce it here.

it depends on how many dependants you claim on your w-4. you filled out the w-4 when you started your job.
