If he was a historical figure, he certainly wasn't the one portrayed in the Bible, as there is no God for him to be in the first place, therefore, he is a figure exaggerated to the point of fiction.

Nice try. It goes both ways. Not all atheists, or Christians for that matter, bash other belief systems. It is human nature to lash out at those who have lashed at you first.
