Sounds like you are looking for love in all the wrong places.
Seek God and His Word and find out what love really is. Then you will better judge whether any particular man is capable of loving you the right way. In the mean time you will learn that being loved by God is a pretty great thing in itself.

a. Maybe its your calling to be a Nun
b. No one escapes death
c. Forgiveness has to be earned, have you proven yourself honest and sincere to your long ago friend?
d. Wait till one of their 3 children grow up, then stalk them...
Even if there is NO god, the above 4 events you mentioned WOULD STILL happen, God doesn't control 3 of the 4 events

Don't take it personally; God screws with everyone. Nobody really lives a truly happy life. God like to dangle the possibility of happiness in front of us and then he snatches it away as if he were Lucy holding the football for Charlie Brown to kick. Like Lucy, it's all just God's way of having a little fun.

Just a thought how about loking inside your self to see what type of person you really are. If you have a conciouse then you have a heart follow it you might find something or someone.

It's probably a test. But what are you doing "liking" men anyway? You know how God feels about the whole sex thing. It makes Him really uncomfortable. That's (I'm sure) why He's created all the men in your orbit gay and dead and the rest.
