She carry the same as all dogs, 60 - 65 days. Only if they dont croak giving birth, Its not a good idea to breed Teacup Chihuahuas did you know that they are the highest type of dog to need C-sections. #1 cause Teacups are not really standard Chihuahuas they are runty chi's bred to runty chi's to produce more runty chi's. They are poorly bred to begin with, and if you cant find a stud dog as small or smaller than her, and you breed her to a standard size Chi your in for a huge problem. Most Tea's have a multitude of health problems. I hope your Tea has a full set of teeth? Anyway enough about that Good luck on the puppies. Sorry but teacups or minatures in dogs that are already minature really chap my hide.

Your dog should be about 3 years old, the male should be no bigger, preferrably smaller. There is a whole host of genetic testing that needs to be done first to be sure that she will breed healthy puppies. The links below will expand upon that. Females being readied to breed need to be on a special diet and supplements for a minimum of 6 months prior to breeding. Pregnancy also requires special diet and supplements with frequent vet visits. The tinier the female, the higher the risk of complications during the pregnancy and birthing with a high risk of emergency c-section and the potential of death for pups and mother alike. Pups should be kept with the mother for a bare MINIMUM of 8 weeks, preferably 12 as the mother not only feeds the pups but helps to teach them proper puppy etiquette.
Be prepared for the cost, talk to your vet about how much a pregnancy with complications can cost. This can run into the thousands, so I hope you have a credit card with a zero balance on it. Hopefully, there will be no problems, but you need to be fully informed as to the realities of breeding teenies, even once.
AKC has great info on this, as do other sites. I have several listed. Good luck, I wish you a healthy, happy outcome.

A normal pregnancy will be 59 to 62 days. You must be on the look out for labor during the last week because teacups have a hard time having pups, I have had to have 3 ceseareans with my Chihuahua teacups and the cost being 350.00$ for the surgery. If you are a stay at home person , not working , you will have time to get your dog to the vet. Just keep close watch at the end so you won't have unexpected complications.Have a heating pad ready for the extra warmth needed.

If your chihuahua is under 4 lb, you should not breed her. She will most likely only have one pup and it will be too large for her to have without help. It is likely she will need a c-section and this usually happens in the middle of the night. With our last litter of chihuahuas, we had to take her to the emergency vet at 10:00 p.m. The litter of 5 cost us $1200, and we lost one pup. The female was 4.5 lb so she was not too small

Okay in the first place there is no such thing as a teacup anything it is a term used by irresponsible breeders to charge more money for the dog . And 2nd that is a very dangerous thing to do breed such a small dog which in all likelihood will need a c-section which can run you into around 3000.00 to perform . Please reconsider your decision to breed such a small animal . Thank you and good luck .

If she is not unusual gestation is 63 days. You can give or take 3 days from that. With a small Chi be careful what male you breed to, and also no matter what male you breed to that you do have a vet available for a C-Section. Some males do throw larger puppies than others and you don't want that. Also some Chi's free whelp but the smaller they are the less likely that is.

Chihuahuas are services to problems giving beginning because of the vast head in assessment to their physique, enormously "teacup" chihuahuas. So a ceasarian must be on the enjoying cards which may be costly. As for vaccinations it relies upon on what vet you pass to. telephone around some and get expenses. in the adventure that your uncertain what your doing you ought to ask the vet in individual or over the telephone for suggestion, do no longer place self belief in the internet because of the fact the distinctive archives won't notice on your particular canines. My suggestion is to locate a good vet with real looking expenses and sign up your canines with them.

A teacup Chihuahua should never be bred, or it'll be a dead chihuahua, even if you breed it to a same size male.

Don't breed your dog. there are thousands of dogs being euthanized every day because people keep breeding their dogs and there aren't enough homes to take them all. dogs don't care if they have pups or not. if you spay them before their first heat cycle their risk for breast cancer alone goes down 40%.

why would you knowingly subject your dog to an increased risk of breast cancer?

unless you breeding for a dog show or doing it to better the breed, you have no business letting your dog reproduce. ESPECIALLY since you don't even know the normal gestation of a dog. that makes you a backyard breeder and that is why the quality of dogs has decreased so much.

I can't tell you the time for sure but when breeding such small dogs, be VERY careful. If its mate is too large, the puppy's will get to large for the mother's stomach and likely kill her.
