I just want to know why guys give us shy girls such a hard time, as if we don't already have a problem just trying to talk to you, and then you ignore us, why?

If you're uncomfortable talking to guys, you might accidentally be giving them the impression that you don't WANT to talk to them. You might be doing this if you have "closed" body language when you're around them (crossed arms, etc) or you don't acknowledge them when they walk by.
Also, if you give short answers that aren't very open-ended, and don't make an effort to keep the conversation going by asking them questions every now and then, it seems like you want the conversation to end.
Smile at guys when you see them and act like you're happy to talk to them and interested in what they're saying.

I think that some guys are just shy themselves and think that it is less work for girls to approach them. I don't think that guys have anything against shy girls, but i do think that they feel more comftorable around outgoing people because they can keep a conversation going more easily and like i said earlier, they will approach them. I'm very shy and somehow I managed to get a boyfriend so not all guys ignore us...you just have to find the right one.

Most guys just have too short attention span. I don't think it's ignorance in a mean way. You just have to do a little something to stick out to get a hold of that attention. -- probably not the answer you're looking for, but that's my take.

i like shy girls, if you are shy that is fine. I hate when shy people try to act unshy then everything they say sounds pointless and obnoxious. Being shy is just a personality trait, dont change your personality.

they do like shy girls, just not them really really really shy girls that dont talk at all. shy enough to be cute, not shy enough to be weird. i think there is a difference.
