It depend on how was your relationship with him previously. If you started off as good friend then I guess it won't be harmful to keep this friendship. But if you feel that having him around kinda upset and makes you think of the bad memories, then its better to call it off.

I believe you should never be friends with an ex. A true friend is a person who is going to support you in every way they can. If he wants to start dating someone else...do you think you can honestly be happy for him?? Do you think he can be happy for you??.... Would you be able to give him advice on other relationships??Think about it!!!!

Can you do that? Does he expect to have "benefits"? I was never able to hold onto an ex-boyfriend as a friend. It just never worked.

IT DEPENDS ON HOW YOU FEEL AND HOW IT ENDED ME AND MY BOYFRIEND OF 9 YEARS BROKE UP AFTER HE CHEATED AND BROKE UP OUR ENGAGEMENT BUT WE ARE BEST FRIENDS I HAVE KNOWN EVERYONE OF HIS G/F AND NOW I AM HAPPY WITH MY B/F NOW AND I COULDN'T BE MORE HAPPY FOR MY EX HIS WIFE AND HIS NEW BABY EVERYTHING HAPPENS FOR A REASON AND I'M GLAD IT TURNED OUT THE WAY IT DID FOR BOTH OF US.
