my boyfriend has had ear ringing non-stop for the past couple of weeks, his ear now seems to have more pain than usual. should he go see an audio-ologist or an ear, nose, and throat specialist?

tinitus is what it is called. It's an inner ear infection. Usually associated with swimmers, but can occur in anyone. You need to see a doctor so he can give you some antibiotic ear drops such as cortosporin otic.

Not exactly sure what an audio-ologist does but an ear, nose, throat doctor would be a good choice. You may even just have him go to his family doctor. He should be able to tell you the best course of action from there.

I would call the local hospital and ask what they think just to be sure - BUT, i would see the ear, nose, and throat doctor since he has pain in his ears.

The ear doctor, since he has been having it non-stop. He needs to get his ears checked. It has nothing to do with his eyes, nose and throat. Hope this helps. Wish him the best!
