i'm in lecture right now and there's this really cute girl in the row in front of me. she's already caught me looking at her twice, lol. i really wanna ask her out but how can i do so in a smooth way. i can't just go up and ask her out can i? lol!

Don't over think it. Just ask her if she would like to get together for coffee and discuss the lecture to see her perspective on it. That will give you are reason to ask and a topic of discussion.

How else do you get her to go out? I don't know how old you are but here's how it went for me once.
I didn't even notice anything about her besides that I liked the way she looked and we had a few good conversations. Later in the year she asks me to go to turn-about dance?? Start talking first, make sure she is interested.
Same thing now that I am working. I had to take public transportation for a while here in DC. There was only 1 bus going by my office so she usually showed up and we'd talk. I figure it's Friday, she's here and there isn't anything for me to do this weekend. Just told her let's do something. I liked how it was going talking with her and I didn't see a ring plus she might be getting rides from a boyfriend but this is the metro bus here.
I would start talking to see how she responds and take it from there. Hard part might be how to get the first conversation started. Unless you are just looking for sex start it off with communication.

go up to her and ask her what her name is, then aske her if shes busy after the lecture is over, if she says no ask her out to get coffee or something

play dumb and ask her to help you understand what the lecture is about or just get her ideas about the subject

how about going and sitting by her then saying hey you wanna go out after this. all you need is confidence and wen she sees that then hey she just might acept your offer.

1st u ve to non-verbally communicate to her.....look in her eyes...smile...
if she shows a positive body-language, then u can definately ask her out.....
but if she make faces wen u look at her....then forget her dude...
and dont look at her again and again...i may spoil ur image....
