Movie dates are kind of boring.
It is suitable for a first date I guess, so long as you go somewhere afterwards where you can talk more. This way the movie will be something you both will have in common to talk about.

As for how to go about asking, just do it. If you think about it too much and it sounds unnatural that might not help you. Just be yourself. Good luck!

Nothing too racy or offending...you don't know what her tastes are, yet. I heard Norbit is funny. Check your local theatre for a movie. But I think that you should ask her out for coffe after the movie so you two could get to talk.

i wouldn't take her to the movies for ur first date because it doesn't give you a chance to talk/get to know each other..
take her bowling or to dinner or if its warm putt putt... or just to hang out at ur house or something... but if you really want to see a movie then take her to dinner first so you can talk a little bit. good luck!

Hey (use her name here), would you like to go to the movies with me this weekend?
Ask her which movie she would like to go see, and if she tells you to decide just see something funny like wild hogs. i haven't seen it, but it looks like a movie almost anyone could enjoy.

whats out right now?

i hate movie dates. so plain and boring. you can't talk in movies and then after you wait like 15 minutes to send them or them getting picked up.
