A nice cup of honey lemon herbal tea, a hot shower with my favorite bodywash of the moment, a face mask to keep out all light, there are tons of stuff I do once in a while if I have trouble sleeping. I downloaded some songs for super cheap onto my iPod of sounds of rain and oceans and stuff, they are calming and distract you and make you fall asleep. Or soothing Michael Buble songs, like "Song for You" is pretty good, or "Quando Quando Quando".... soft music, cool room with lots of blankets, stop thinking about every day real stuff. You have to release your mind, and focus on something else. To fall asleep every night, I imagine something. That I'm flying somewhere, that I'm on an adventure, that I'm being whisked away by a handsome man and we dance, that I'm laying in a hammock in the woods by a lake, birds chirping, that I'm painting... anything I want, I can have. Try it!

there is a herb called "valarein root" and it helps the body to relax and then a good hot bath is always helpful tor relaation...try to do something to relax before you go and get into bed, whatever you like such as a cup of green tea or warm milk...try to relax your mind...if you have enough money to go to the vitamin store or you know like GNC...they have several products to help you....caffenine is not good for bed time either, so you should stop it a couple hours before bed...if you still have problems there are prescriptions that can help but if you are just trying to sleep buy a sleep aid and not like tylenol PM...that is for a headache and other aches and pains, get your doctor to counsel you...they make several prescriptions to help that are non-narcotic...I have a chronic illness, muscular dystrophy and I take the drug ambien....good luck ...

I count backwards from 200, and try to visualize the numbers. I never get past 100 before I am asleep.

Put on a relaxation tape(you can buy them in lots of places).Pracice breathing techniques to slow & regulate yor breathing & breath properly(when you breathe in you fill your lungs so your stomach goes out, when you breathe out you empty your lungs so your stomach goes down, lots of people dont breathe properly),have a milky hot drink like hot chocolate or ovaltine, deal with/do important jobs so you dont lie worrying about them, make sure your not too hot/cold in bed, think happy thoughts.

Do The Step or Jumping Jacks for 5 minutes. I am out almost instantly. Works well when you wake up too. 10 jumping jacks and you are WIDE AWAKE!!
