This would be a great fight as well, I give this one to La Motta to. Duran was good but slow. I think La Motta would have been all over Duran. he would not let up on him. I dont think Duran was as tough or has as much heart as Jake had. He quit a fight with Sugar Ray Leanard.

This is an intresting matchup. Duran is an all time great at lightweight while LaMotta is a natural middleweight and very strong. Duran was able to give Hagler a very hard fight before fading and losing the decision and I know that LaMotta does not have as much punching power as Hagler. I think that LaMotta is tougher and stronger but that Duran is a better boxer than LaMotta and knows a lot of tricks. I don't believe there would be any knockdowns in this fight with LaMotta being the aggressor driving Duran in to the ropes and landing hard body punches with Duran countering with hard right hands. I believe that Duran would land the better punches and more of them in a very brutal fight for both men. Duran by split decision.

Duran, a polished master boxer who knew all the tricks, could box brilliantly or brawl brilliantly. La Motta a fighter who could wade in and apply pressure on his opponent. Great chin, lacked power. Both fighters absorb punishment in this fight. Duran's overall better skills and ring savvy net him a unanimous decision win.

Duran was a great lighter weight fighter who moved up in weight losing alot of his punching power. LaMotta always fought at middleweight and had a 28 KO percentage. That being said Duran would hold his own with LaMotta in the power department. Looking at Duran's whole career and saying that because he quit one fight means he has no heart is ridiculous. Sometimes people are looked at with more respect when they can come back from something like that. Duran would get my decision in this fight. He is an all time great.

G Man ~
I'm assuming we're writing about Middleweight here? If this is indeed the case in my opinion, Roberto gets knocked out by the "Bronx Bull" Jake Lamotta in the 9th round. Jake fought his whole career at middleweight and Roberto lost focus and desire to stay at the weight in which he was great lightweight.
Jake was indeed an animal at Middleweight and definitely hit the harder of the two. Jake's over all better body work would be one of the biggest differences in this fight. Duran grew soft around the middle and did not like to take body shots. Jake's body attack was forever present. Jake would not only hurt Duran downstairs but upstairs as well.
This would not be a good matchup for Duran. Thanks for the question G Man.

I presume you're setting this bout at Middleweight, seeing as this is where LaMotta boxed for nearly all of his career.
I think Duran would be wary of LaMotta's strength, and would look to outbox LaMotta, rather than simply stand and trade. Duran keeps well away from LaMotta, and boxes from range, uses his superior speed and counterpunches his way to narrow unanimous decision win.
