my friends son has run away from home and is living with his substance using father. he bouces from house to house and wants nothing to do with he. she had given up on him, but now the school district calls her to let her know he hasen't attended school and where we live the parents an be fined and placed in jail for the kids not going to school. any 1 have some helpful websites/programs

There are now state ran boot camps as alternatives for jail and detention centers. Call your local juvenile court to see if this is offered in your area. They run about 6 months and only start as certain times and they have to be enrolled or signed up. These are geared for troubled teens.

It sounds like she ought to focus on giving custody of him over to his father if that's the person he really wants to be with.

My mom sent my younger sister to jobcorp when she started having similar problems with her, maybe that will help your friends son as well.
