Plumbers can install dishwashers, if there is available electricity. Unless a plumber holds an electrical license, you should hire an electrician to provide a switched outlet, for the dishwasher. Hot water is required for the feed to the dishwasher, and a drain connection also. A separate shut off is required on the water, in case of future repairs. My usual fee is $150, but sometimes there are unusual circumstances that require extra cost. I hope this is what you are looking for!

First off, I going to assume your cabinets are modular cabinets, and not built in place. Most dishwashers are 24". If you have a cabinet 24" or slightly bigger, like 27" or 30", you may be able to find fillers to make up the difference. If the cabinets are from a bigger manufacturer, like Aristocraft (not exactly a great line, but hopefully you get the point) It may be possible to get a close match. The problem isn't tearing out, a few screws in the countertop, in the wall, in the stiles tieing the cabinets together. It take a bit of elbow grease, but it will come out. And if you don't care about sacrificing it, that part is the easy part. The hard part is finding matching materials. Cabinet fillers, for one. If the flooring runs up to cabinets, not under, then that may be a problem. But I'd call a plumber, get a price. There is some electical work, but they may be licensed for that, too. Some large companies have multiple licenses. Even if they don't, they may have been through this before, and know what an electrician will charge. Or they may ask you find your own electrian. Point is labor will consist of the plumber and electrician. Perhaps a carpenter. It also may require a flooring contractor. There is a small area with typical instalation of dishwasher where you can see the flooring that the cabinet would hide. Materials, the dishwasher may be part of the price, but if not depends on model, could maybe $200 or more. Usually, other materials, wiring, plumbing, etc, are part of labor. Like I said call a few plumbers. You could save a few bucks by doing the carpentry yourself, but if they only knock off $100, let them deal with it. That's the best way to get a price, call local contractors to get several quotes. I know that that's not very specific, but that's what I would do to get some pricing.

Generally, a dishwasher install is about $50 plus costs... here in Canada anyhow... The costs are about $25 for a plumbing kit and about $10 for electrical. I would call a handyman-type as he can do both electric and the plumbing for you.

Good Luck!

Most places will install it for you when you buy it. But if there isn't one already installed do you have room for one? If not then you need a plumber to cut away your cabinets and install the necessary piping and water supply to accommodate a dishwasher.
