I hand draw the countertop designs I sell at work. I would like to know of a cheap way to do this on the computer. Very simple basic designs. It would be so nice to have the basic shapes templated and then add dimensions for different jobs.
Any advice I would surely appreciate.
Thank you.

We're in the same biz!

There are some free sites...try going to Better Homes and Gardens(bhg.com) or to hgtv.com.....

both sites have a design section

There is a seperate site called hgtvpro.com this one is really great! I recommend it highly!!!!

There is also a magnetic floorgrid/furniture layout set available from Better Homes and Gardens. It's a little over $100.00 but well worth it if helping to place furniture in a room.

If you have PowerPoint or Word it's easier but the concepts are basically the same. Click on the Draw toolbar (if it's not showing, click on view - toolbars - draw.

Then use the shapes (rectangle, square, etc. ) to manually draw the thing.

There are lots of cheapie home renovation softwares out there. Check Home Depots site or Future Shop.

Hope this helps.
