that Jesus is the 'Son of God?' Is it literal? Do you believe God gave birth? Or that God had sexual intercourse?

I usually hear different responses from christians when i talk to them in person, but i was hoping to have something comprehensive by asking this question here.

Hey, Ray, Do all christians agree with such an interpretation; including the christians that do not accept the 'divinity' of Jesus?

california dudette, i am in no way suggesting that God had sex.

However, when you say that Jesus is the "Son of God" and you force it down the throats of Muslims, saying that one has to accept Jesus as "God's Son", you are the one implying that God had sex.

He was born as a human through a woman by the Holy Spirit - no sexual intercourse needed - God speaks and it happens. Jesus came to our world this way to show us how it is possible to lead a sinless life by following God the Father. Because Jesus did this He can truly be called our older brother. He calls God "our Father" to show God's love for us is like a father's love for his child (how it was meant to be at least) and that we are a part of God's family. Therefore, Jesus is "the Son of Man" and "The Son of God", human yet divine.

No not at all for both answers. The God head is God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit separate but one. There was no sexual intercourse for Mary to get pregnant, hence Virgin Mary. If you have any questions please call 310 674 7690 or go to the website

no, you are on the wrong path.

God is one, there is only ONE God. He displays Himself in 3 persons or pesonalities, The Father, The Son, The Holy Spirit. Each one submits to the others. Jesus Submitted to God the Father when He was willing to become our sacrifice for sin. He did that freely and without hesitation.

This design sets the example for all of us. We too should be submissive to God.

It's a paradox. Jesus is God says the Church. So technically, Jesus is His own Son. He is Father and Son all at once - and Holy Spirit too! Bear in mind, this isn't in the original Bible manuscripts. The Bible was changed to reflect the thinking of the Church. Notice how conspicuously absent women are from that equation. Hmm...

we mean that Jesus came OF God and FROM God. English is a very limited language in terms of certain adjectives. God didn't procreate, it's like of God, Jesus came, as in from His essense, of His mind......hard to explain I guess.

God didn't have intercourse. He made the Begotten part of Himself into a soul and placed that into the zygote within Mary (which He added 23 chromosomes onto, likely without a sperm at all). No intercourse involved.

Son of God via immaculate conception.

Do your homework. Mary became pregnant by the Holy Spirit...

Matthew 1:18 -- "This is how the birth of Jesus Christ came about: His mother Mary was pledged to be married to Joseph, but before they came together, she was found to be with child through the Holy Spirit."

I hope this is not too difficult for you to understand.

Ever see star wars? You know the way Anakin was a virgence in the force, ie, he had no father?

Christianity, or at least Catholicism teaches the same thing.

The Holy Spirit caused Mary to become pregnant with Jesus. Mary was a virgin.

For God to be able to just speak and create all things, how is it hard to understand that his powers are not limited.
Her conception was of the Holy Ghost, not by human means.
there was no intercourse in the creation of man, God created him.
Simply Put (MIRACLE).

Well God made evryone on this earth, he didnt literally give birth to us or have sex, he just "created" ust. If you want to know more in depth about it, read the Bible. Even if your arent a Christian it would answer alot of questions that you have.
Best of luck!
