I've looked online at all the generic Chicago websites, but I want to find an outdoor wedding location in Chicago, preferably something on the water. Does anyone know of any good spots or links to websites or pictures of these places?

I am asking specifically for a ceremony location. I already have a reception location picked out. I am thinking like a park or beach on the water... something like that, just for a ceremony.

Other than chartered boats, I don't know of any other places in Chicago. Here are a couple of other boats to check into:

Shoreline Charter & Events
474 N Lake Shore Dr # 3511
Chicago, IL
Phone: (312) 222-9328

Odyssey Cruises (My personal favorit)
401 E Illinois Suite 425
Chicago, IL
Phone: (312) 321-7620
Fax: (312) 321-7630

If you don't mind having a mini-destination wedding you might want to look into the Illinois Beach Resort where you can have your ceremony (with a lakeview) and reception at the same location. Since it's also a resort, your wedding party can stay there the night before. It's about a 40 minute drive from Chicago, but they claim to be the only hotel in the state of Illinois located directly on Lake Michigan (which I find believable since I haven't hear of any others). Here's their website: http://www.ilresorts.com/weddings.html

I went to one two years ago at the walled garden just north of the Lincoln Park Conservatory which is next to the Lincoln Park Zoo. It is a large secluded garden with a pond surrounded by a wall and not far from the lakefront. It was lovely. The entrance is right on the south side of Fullerton Ave. before Lake Shore Drive, I'm not sure who to contact.

navy pier has ballrooms that would be good reception locations, as well as the adler planetarium, and even the shedd aquarium i think. they also have wedding cruises on boats like my fair lady and mystic cruises. on the cruise ships i think you can do both a ceremony and reception. check out their website in the link below. i'm sure you could also rent a yacht if that's the way you wanna go. good luck!
