Not only is limewire badware, you can also get viruses from downloading bad files. If you use it, be careful what you download.
And question two: It depends on what you download. If you download a movie, of course it is illegal, because you didn't pay for it. If you download something like an amateur video that isn't something you buy, then it is legal. But limewire is generally used for illegal purposes, so I suggest you don't get it unless you want to break the law.

Depends on the version of LimeWire. Free LimeWire is not legal, it's considered copyright infringement. But I still download from there anyway.
And yes, there is a chance of getting a virus, especially with the bigger downloads such as movies or computer programs. But I'ved downloaded probably over 300 songs and not get a virus yet ( *knock on wood*)
But I run my virus scanner after a download. So I suppose you could do that.

YES, you get viruses from the programs you can download using Limewire. For a better program, use Shareaza. While Limewire is legal, the files that you may download may not be. This is true for all file sharing programs.

You don't get viruses from limewire, but you can get a virus from something you download from limewire. Be careful what you download. Make sure file types and sizes match the content you are looking for. Avoid downloading apps and zipped content.

You do not get viruses from Limewire. But you can from the files you download with it. Same with any file sharing program. If you use any file sharing program, you need to scan any files you download for viruses before opening them.
Limewire and other file sharing programs are legal. However USING them to share copyrighted material is illegal. It is like: owning a gun is legal. Using it to shoot people is not.

people are stupid, right here we go and i wont say this again limewire is LEGAL!! file sharing licensed and copyrighted files on it IS NOT! simple fact.
and you can and you cant get viruses. it depends, just dont be silly with what you download. if you are just downloading music and videos then have a whale of a time. Viruses in this format basically dont exist.

Limewire itself is not illegal. It WAS created to give basic file sharing capabilities, unfortunately people use it to download music, movies, etc. WHICH IS ILLEGAL. Yes, if a person shares a corrupted file or one with a virus, you can get it from that file too. But Limewire itself is legal, but the way it is used most of the time, is illegal.

getting a virus from limewire program itself is not possible adware or spyware is possible read the TOS. but getting a virus from the stuff you get on limewire hell yeah peer to peer is nortorious for that. that goes true for all p2p programs they dont scan for viruses they just get the file you want no questions asked. and if the program is legal well thats a grey area if you getting legal files then its legal if your not then it's not if you gotta ask then people wonder about you.

Filesharring is legal but yes it is possible to get a virus from limewire but i have had it for along time and havent ever! Dont download corrupted files! It will tell you when you download! Also when you download it will ask you to fileshare SAY No! That is ilegal! That is what napster had that law suit!
