Fertility treatments can increase your risk of reproductive cancers among other things. They really shouldn't be used expcept when you have a specific need.
I've heard tha eating a diet high in yams (actual yams, not the sweet potatoes sold in supermarkets and marked as yam...you might have to check around). Yoruba women (I think) eat a diet high in yams and have a very high twin rate.

The chance of having twins is higher among certain groups of people than among others. You are more likely to have twins if:
*there is a history of fraternal twinning on your mother's side (from her mother....etc.). Fraternal twinning occurs when more than one egg matures and is released during ovulation; that trait can be inherited but, obviously, applies only to women. So the incidence of twinning on your father's side of the family doesn't up the odds.
* you are older than 30 (the older women get, the more likely they are to release more than one egg during ovulation)
* if you're overweight or tall -- recent studies suggest an increased chance of twinning among taller and overweight women
* if you use certain fertility drugs.
The chance of having twins also depends on your race, how many times you've been pregnant, and whether you've had twins before.
So, basically, the chances of twinning are outside of our control.
However, because the use of certain fertility drugs does raise the risk/chance of having twins, it would theoretically be possible to increase the chance of having twins by taking those drugs. I say "theoretically" because no doctor is going to prescribe fertility meds for that purpose.

Statistically being older, overweight, and having other children ups your chances. But that certainly isn't the case for everyone. There is nothing you can do other than invitro or fertility drugs. Sorry.
If you have fraternal twins on your side of the family it will increase your odds too, identical twins are luck of the draw.

Not really. Maybe fertility drugs. But unless they run in your family your chances are slim.

The only way I can think of is fertility pills. Of course you may wind up with more than two going that route!
