Me and my husband had the interview this morning at the immigration for my green card(i m from Europe). The officer made few questions and he was short. At the end he told me that i ll receive an answer within 180 days. Has anybody been through the same? How long does it take ? Did anybody have to really wait for 180 days?

Short is a generally good thing. You know things aren't going well when the interview goes on for hours and the questions get more and more detailed.... the officers will sometimes even schedule a second and even a third interview if they think there is something wrong.

Generally you can expect an answer before 180 days. Some officers will not issue a decision on the spot, other officers will. Depends on their mood and whether they had time to review your file before the interview. Even if the interview went fine, the officer will still want to make sure your other documentation is in order before issuing an approval.

My friend went through the process. He said that the interview was extremely short and the person asked very few questions. I don't know how long he had to wait for an answer. It took him like nine months to receive the card. I don't know if that nine months included waiting to receive an answer. It turned out that the mixed him up with someone else so it took longer for him to receive the card. He eventually did receive the card, though.

No. I got my stamp in my passport in ten minutes. Are you sure he didn't put a stamp in your passport that acts as a temporary Green Card for up to a year? Take a look and see what it says. Ask more questions if you need more help.
