Is there any way to find an employers ID number online for cheap maybe even free?

One of my employerd told me that I didnt need a W-2 cause I didnt work there long enough but I called the IRS and they said I did and told me if I didnt get one use the 4852 form but I dont have the EIN and the website is not letting me file without it PLEASE HELP!!!???

Very Easy.

Go to your state "Department of Revenue" website. Search out "Fictitious Name" Registration. Enter the Company's name and hit search. Open up
the file and you will discover all the information you need including the company's employer identification number.

It is all on public record.

Hey Kandi; Don't worry your request is easy. To bad you didn't mention the company name and I could have included there ein number here. But alls you need to do is log into www.sunbiz.org You can mention the company name or the owners name or the address and so forth. You will get the whole legal discription of the company including when they last filed. If this doesn't work for some reason use your search engine for ficticous names (check my spelling). this will give you a link to search a name for a company and this will take you to their registered company profile.

If you made less than 600 they don't have to give you a w-2 their allowed that much per employee as cash. But you still have to claim this. If they paid you more you claim your earnings with their name and the irs will do the investagation. Who ever you talked to put this on your shoulders where it is their job. Alls you have to do is claim it and your legal. The other people (company) isn't.

Your old employer has it. Just call them and they'll give it to you. They have to. If they don't, then they may be trying avoid paying all their own taxes.
