The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.
Its much easier to give into the temptations of the world than to live by the spirit. Satan uses these things in our lives -- like the death of your mother -- to make us think that either God does not exist, or he does not care about us.
Pray that your sister will come back around.

Well it's great that your sister was able to overcome the lies taught to her in childhood. Atheism is becoming more popular for several reasons. Firstly it's becoming more socially acceptable, so more people are being honest about their atheism, which makes it seem more popular. Also, the availability of information, particularly through the internet, makes it much harder to achieve the intellectual isolation required for religion. Some people just aren't ignorant enough anymore.
And how exactly does God bless you everyday? What is one thing he's done for you today that couldn't have happened naturally?

be careful of what information you're making use of. Thre were rumors of "Satanists" spreading by the country actually for hundreds of years (witch-hunts, everyone?). more beneficial oftentimes than no longer they're depending or completely on rumor, hypothesis and unreasonable concern. that's in undemanding words been in the finest 50 years or so as that there have truly been communities easily figuring out themselves as Satanists - and a lot of them are atheists, and exceedingly a lot none worship a being such as the Christian idea of devil.

Did your sister say that she is an atheist because of your mother's death? I used to be a believer, but I finally realized that I was forcing myself to believe things I knew were not true. Maybe your sister had a similar experience. Whatever the reason, she is still your sister. Don't try to change her, just love her.

There is no evidence that there is a god. None.
I think it's great that your sister has the critical thinking skills to be able to question having belief in a fairy tale. Maybe one day you'll be saved from your delusion too. It's really wonderful being able to think for oneself instead of regurgitating what your pastor tells you to.

It's not an awful thing that your sister has decided to believe differently than what is expected of her. It would be awful, however, if you continued to criticize her beliefs just because you don't agree with them. If you really care about her, love your sister more than you hate her religion.

The progress has been happening slowly over the last few hundred years. The church doesn't have people under their thumb like they used to, and nobody buys the "going to hell" story anymore.

Correct, her death has nothing to do with God's lack of existence.
It's popular because it makes sense. It's quite clear that Yahweh is in the same category as Apollo and Zeus. Some of us just open our eyes to that.

I think the" theory of evolution" is the main reason, if we just focus on Jesus and live our lives the way God wants us to live we would have everything we need.
