Fall
In the Garden of Eden, God commanded, "Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat, but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it, nevertheless, thou mayest choose for thyself, for it is given unto thee; but remember that I forbid it, for in the day thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die" (Moses 3:16–17). Because Adam and Eve transgressed this command and partook of the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, they were cast out from the presence of the Lord (see D&C 29:40–41). In other words, they experienced spiritual death. They also became mortal—subject to physical death. This spiritual and physical death is called the Fall

Early Signs of the Apostasy

A church occurs when two or more gather together to discuss spiritual awakenings. If Adam and Eve weren't so busy being impetuous, they could have established a church right then and there. But instead, they transgressed, and became the authors of agency (free will).

Physical death in one sense is an apostasy...because we will be reincarnated (notice the carnal) which means we have deathless bodies.

Another question...are we in the presence of the Lord, or not, because of the fall? If there is a True Church of Christ, how could the leader of such a church not be in the Presence from time to time, as a prophet?

This supports Mormans as a true religion of Christianity.

The conclusion of your statement is not true. Most christian denominations believe that God Gave Adam and Eve the ability to choose to eat from the tree of knowledge of good and evil even though He had commanded them not to eat the fruit of that tree. Because they they sinned, rebelled, they were separated from God. Other churches also call this the fall, so does that make them the true church of God? NO!

The best way to determine the true church is from the word of God, not from the doctrines and covenants of the mormon church. "To the law and the testimony, if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them." Isaiah 8:20 To paraphrase this verse, if anyone says or teaches anything that is contrary to the teachings of the BIBLE, then they are lying to you. The Mormon church claims that Lucifer is a brother to Jesus and a son to God. This is a lie that is not supported by the BIBLE that says that Jesus is the "ONLY BEGOTTEN SON of the Most High" and that Lucifer was a created angel.

One more thing, the word "mormon" comes from "Mormose", a pagan god, and means a follower of Mormose.

The mormon church is NOT God's church.

The only thing that I can agree with is that christians have believed lies taught by their ministers, and the mormon church has done the same thing in following Joseph Smith who is a false prophet (many of the things that he said and wrote contradict the teachings of the Bible). Paul did not prophesy about the doom of the christian faith, if he had, he would not have worked so hard to build it up.

You are using the Book of Mormon and the D&C to prove the truth of the LDS church. The Book of Mormon has no historical provenance. The only manuscripts magically disappeared.

The new testament quotations you make could be taken to apply to the LDS church as well as any Christian church. Indeed, being a johnny come lately, it might more fit the definition of pandering to those with itchy ears.

The Mormon church has no authority to claim that Christian churches are wrong. Stand on your own merit, but the claim that all other churches are apostate is not serving you well at all.

Read those verses a little further and they tell us the God clothed them. It's obvious that God had not rejected them, rather, He had compassion on them and gave them warm skins to keep warm.
Paul and Peter are teaching about a "Perversion" of the Christianity they were teaching.
The entire Old and New testament teach us that Christ Jesus is the Messiah. Period.
Not Jesus + Works --- Not Jesus + Someone else....
These are the types of "Perversions" that Peter and Paul were writing about.
They taught Christ Jesus only. He is enough, nothing else is needed. Period.
God Bless You....Peace.

It's to do with the interpretation of Revelation and a prophet in the later days that will start the true church. Seventh Day Adventists also have a prophet - Ellen G White, and believe themselves to be the one true church.
