If a 10 year old got a small scar on her face about a year ago, should she have cosmetic surgery now or should she wait until she is older?

(What would a medical doctor recommend?)

Fix now. She's better able to heal (from the surgery) when young.

A medical doctor would probably look at it and tell you that it will fade with age.

Maybe. I kicked my brother in the face when he was about three years old, and the scar was noticeable for the rest of his life, as was the chicken pox scar on his nose, from when he was maybe five.

Go to healthquest.peoplesway.com and look at Oil of Mink. I have a seven year old scar it has reduced. It was quite fiberous and now is hardly noticeable. This product has been recommended to over 25000 patients by a plastic surgeon in the US to prevent scarring after the operation. My neice has had 15 year old stretch marks disappear with this stuff. It is also good for sensitive teeth, your hair, warts, moles, excema, psorisis, cuticles......You can go to youtube, search peoplesway, and see a video on the products.

For a small scar, you can buy scar reducing cream that will probably take care of it. Otherwise, I would never reccomend getting it surgically "fixed". Not only because a scar that is only a year old is still fading- but also because it would be an awfully large expense for such a small problem.
