The Australians are our best friends in the world.
I'd recommend bringing a lot of money and buying a bunch of rounds everywhere you go.
Thank you Austrailia

Wear a t-shirt that says 'Thank you for all your support of the USA in the Iraq War, fighting for Democracy and against terrorism'. Of course you'll look like an incredible drongo, but that's your choice.

To be on th safe side, if I were you, I wouldn't mention the Iraq War and our involvement.
You may be surprised by the response you get regarding that subject.
I don't think the majority of us are happy our troops are over there. (That's a personal opinion)
Thanks for the thought, though.
RantinRach is right. We'd like them home, not bowing to George W's wishes.
Our troops are also in Timor, The Solomons and other overseas postings.

Probably not a good idea to do anything. The Iraq War is very unpopular in Australia.

You could always ask Mr Bush to tell Mr Howard to send them all home. Or just be grateful for any help that Australia provided to the war, when 90%of the population was against it. The reason why Australia hasn't sent as many troops to Iraq as the US is - duh - we have like, 1/15th the population. And remeber we still have people stuck in Afghanistan as well.

This is a troll, right?
There is only one Australian who supports your war on oil, oops, "Terrorism" and that's little man-of-steel Johnny "Me too" Howard. Thank him. Apologise to the rest of us.

Well, I'd say something like,
"Hey, thanks for sending like, 900 soldiers to Iraq, way to go you wonderful bunch of galahs!"
Then turn your beer glass upside down on the bar and wave two fingers in the air.
PS: If you're smart, you'll look these gestures up before you do them in front of dinky di Aussies. Also, you might want to do a little research on just how popular our ridiculous war IS down there. You just might be surprised.

If you were the President, and we had secured the oil we were after, you could reward them with some of that.
