Fire caused by small heater?
how could i put out a small heater fire its plugged into an outlet?

it is not happening now it happened 10 minutes ago and i was seeing if i did the right thing by unplugging it and then throwing water on it.....

Electrical fires, (class C) become A or B fires when you remove the electricity. You did the right thing by unplugging it first, then putting it out with water. Bottom line: put the wet stuff on the red stuff. Usually works, unless its a special case, like electricity, or old volvo transmissions. (yay for magnesium fires!!!)

You don't have a fire extinguisher anywhere? At this point you should probably just get out and call the fire department. For God's sake, get off the computer.

Well unplugging it was good. Water - not so good. Just be thankful you are still here to tell the tale.

use a fire extinguisher marked A B C or use extinguisher for electic fires only LABLED "C" FOR ELECTRIC FIRES ONLY. NO LIQUIDS UNLESS YOU WANT TO FRY >>>
