I met an attractive woman recently who is 32ish, and we have been hitting it off, but I dont know if I want to ask her out. She is an artist and a musician and told me that she lives with her parents. I like the artist/musician part, but dont know what to think about the other part which seems a little weird to me. At least I dont think she is into drugs or anything, and she actually seems to be smart and fun..but a little shy sometimes. Says she takes care of her parents who are old.
Should I look past it and ask her out?

Hey thanks for all your replies. I was playing devil's advocate for a friend here. She was starting to get a little insecure about her situation. Now I can tell her.

Yes look past that. Most people go back home sometimes because their parents get a little old and can't fully take care of themselves. You should be glad not only that you hit it off with her, but you found someone who is caring and who is really big on family. She seems like someone who is nice and if you like her, I suggest you go for it. Just because she lives with her parents should not be a reason to pass her up. You could be letting something good pass you by.

It could be due to a couple of reasons. If she's irresponsible and has no desire to pay her own way, that's not good. If she's living with her parents because they need her (if they're seniors or have health problems) that's a different story. If it's a temporary thing, due to a job change or one of life's setbacks, that's something that could change.
I know many non-American people who live with aging parents, so it could be a cultural thing, especially if the parents are getting older, or have limitations (they don't drive or speak Enlgish very well.)

Yes, ask her out! But make sure there is a responsible person to help with her parents while you are out with her. An agency can help on that. There is absolutely nothing wrong with a single gal living with her parents at her age. Especially when she is taking care of them. Have fun on your date with her! Take care.

No she is not weird. but if she still lives with her parents at that age she will never know how to be with a partner. I know that she is trying to help her parents, but she needs to take care of her self, too. If you are going to ask her out, well you know that her parents are going to be first in all of her decision's.

I don't get it -- what's wrong with living at home to take care of your parents? It's not like she's a guy?!?

Of course, ask her out. She's taking care of them, so really they live with her. She sounds like a perfect catch.

Ask her out.You don't really know her story and you can't judge her for living with her parents. What if her mother is sick and wants her daughter to be closer to her? Whats the worst that could happen? Go for it

Look pass it. You dont have to ask her out yet, but spend more time with her and learn more about her. She sounds cute and sexy.
