I got my financial aid award recently. They are giving me $22,460.00 yearly. The school is $25k a year (tution) does this mean i have to come up with $2540 yearly ro must i pay for the room and board, meal plan, etc.

In the letter is also stated "Your Estimated Cost of Attendance includes tutition, fees, room and board charges as well as an allowance for books and supplies, transportation, personal and other expenses." What does that mean?

You need to be careful how you read the award letter.

Are you looking at the Total or the Tuition part when you say the cost is 25k a year? If you are looking at the Total then it will include books and living expenses... What you do to find out how much of a check you will get is subtract tuition and fees from the total. Then divide by the number of terms. This will let you know how much money you will get back per term for living expenses. Normally I was a couple thousand short per year and it still ends up working out well if you can budget appropriately. You can go to your fin. aid office and ask about a parent plus loan if you want more money. If your parents are denied then the loan will go straight to you. You can also look into a part time campus job, they are flexible with student schedules.

If it is Only the tuition that is 25k then I suggest you see a financial aid counselor at your college ASAP, or call one using the schools 1-800#
