"5 Gallon Keg= 53 12oz. Beers

1/4 Barrel= 80 12oz. Beers
1/2 Barrel= 160 12 oz. Beers "

If you check the link, it also has pricing for the different sizes. I'm pretty sure they're quotes for that company alone, but it should give you a better idea. Hope it helps!!

if you are having it at an actual reception area they will usually break it down for you. or you can ask a bartender how much they get out of a keg and figure that people will have about 3. times that by how many people you are having. we had to kinda figure that one out but the place we had our reception helped out a lot on that one. i had about 120 people and a keg and a half was plenty.

How many do you estimate will attend and how many of those will drink the beer? and what KIND of beer makes a difference, too. If you go with the cheaper stuff (Coors Lt), you may end up with beer left over. But if you pay more and get the better stuff (Red Hook or a micro brew) you have better chance of it being gone by the end of the reception!
