I'd get a second opinion from a different vet.

You are seeing actual worms from the digestive track come up rather than go down and out? Hmm When you got a heart worm check did they also do a fecal for worms? Even if they did a fecal for worms tape worms can be present. If you are seeing whole worms tape look like tiny cobras. They lift their necks unlike many other worms. They can also be seen as rice in the stool, (or whole in stool also). Take a sample of the worm that has been spit up to the vet you went to in the morning. They should have the weight of your puppy etc., and give you some wormer. Or bring the puppy along if you can and aren't at work or school.
PS Tape worms do not show up in fecal exams they are seen by the naked eye, which is why I suspect tape because I assume the vet did a fecal for hook whip and round.

A seven week old puppy will not have heartworms. It takes 6 months for baby heartworms to migrate to the heart after injected my mosquito and grow. So a 7 week old pup does not have heartworms.
Dogs do not vomit heartworms. Heartworms are only in the heart and baby heartworms (microflaria) swim in the blood stream. So, your pup is not vomiting heartworms.
Commom worms found in all pups are hooks, rounds, and whips. Your pup could have any one or all three.
These worms are very easily treated by your vet. You did not mention in your post that your vet treated him. If not, you need to take him back. Some cases, treating more than once may be needed.
If your vet did treat, it is pretty common to find dead worms in vomit and stool, especially if they had a large amount. Finding dead worms means the medication is working. They are dying and exiting the body.

It is round worms. Most puppies and kittens get that so dont feel bad. Go to your local petsmart or petco, any pet supply store and get Roundworm medicine. From $5-$15.00. Usually its a monthly treatment. Also I would do a regular tapeworm treatment. Usually tapeworm treatments are tri-monthly. Make sure that you get it for Dogs and Puppies NOT cats and kittens. Its a difference. You will probably have to get the tapewormer from your vet. I reccomment Cestex. Its about $6 bucks a pill, and one pill lasts for 3 months. Or you can order SafeGuard dog wormer online. You pick your dogs weight and you match it up. You give 3 packets for 3 consecutive days. That last for 6 months. One box contains 3 packages, one treatment. That works for all roundworms and tapeworms. Good luck. if you need any information contact me at minpingurl1@yahoo.com Id love to help.

Most puppies are born with worms...They must be wormed just as they must have their puppy shots at 8wks...This is not something you do when you get the urge, you must do it
now due to the pups age..
When the vet gives him his first round of puppy shots also have him give wormer. It is very important to take the pup to
the vet ... you had it a month and it is now 7wks.old. no puppy should be taken from it's mother prior to 8wks. Sounds like
this poor little guy needs to be looked at by a professional
if it was welped this young.

probably not HEARTworm.
probably something like roundworm, it sounds like from the vomiting.
under normal conditions, if a dam isn't de-wormed before breeding, puppies have worms, they need to be dewormed 3-4 times from approx. 3-weeks to 8 weeks.
Get him de-wormed.. you can buy by Nemex-2 at the feed store or petstore.. it's the best de-wormer for young puppies.

you should definetly go to another vet because your puppy does have worms. it needs to take pills to get rid of them, and i wouldnt wait too long because it can become very damaging on the puppy. and i dont why you got the puppy so early, they usually go around 6-8 weeks and if you got it a month ago, i dont know. they probably knew and wanted to get rid of it. you might get the person you bought it from to help pay for the vet bill, it depends.

I second everything that "tmrvt" said, as it's correct!
What you saw it's round worms, also called puppy worms. There are several common dewormers available for you to treat your pup with.
No, you don't test a puppy for heartworms.
No, it wasn't hook worms, as they aren't visible to the naked eye, only thru a microscope.
