Deuteronomy 22:28-29 says:
If a man finds a young woman who is a virgin, who is not betrothed, and he seizes her and lies with her, and they are found out, then the man who lay with her shall give to the young woman's father fifty shekels of silver, and she shall be his wife because he has humbled her; he shall not be permitted to divorce her all his days.

So ... the penalty is being forced to marry the girl. Pretty stupid, huh?

Deuteronomy 22:
25 But if a man find a betrothed damsel in the field, and the man force her, and lie with her: then the man only that lay with her shall die. 26 But unto the damsel thou shalt do nothing; there is in the damsel no sin worthy of death: for as when a man riseth against his neighbour, and slayeth him, even so is this matter: 27 For he found her in the field, and the betrothed damsel cried, and there was none to save her.

28 If a man find a damsel that is a virgin, which is not betrothed, and lay hold on her, and lie with her, and they be found; 29 Then the man that lay with her shall give unto the damsel's father fifty shekels of silver, and she shall be his wife; because he hath humbled her, he may not put her away all his days.

There is a reason, he had to marry her.

A Woman being a virgin was a very important thing. If she wasn't her life would be ruined. Who would have married her?

The Society they lived in was different. It was a law for that time. It was in the Best interest of the woman and her family.

Of chorse, if Her father didn't want her to marry him, it wouldn't happen. Read...

Exodus 22:
16And if a man entice a maid that is not betrothed, and lie with her, he shall surely endow her to be his wife.

17If her father utterly refuse to give her unto him, he shall pay money according to the dowry of virgins.

If a man is caught in the act of raping a young woman who is not engaged, he must pay fifty pieces of silver to her father. Then he must marry the young woman because he violated her, and he will never be allowed to divorce her.

I don't know, but don't muslims think they get a bunch of virgins to have their way with if they die in a holy war. This is absolutely bizar and I wish you women would read the Bible or at least have some common sense. What happened to womans rights!?
