does FA have a lower mortality rate? If you are say a 13B is it safer than being an 11B. and what would the typical field artillery person do in iraq now?

Both are on the front lines so I would think both are about the same as far as danger...

Being in the Field Artillery is safer because the infantry men are on the frontlines. The artillery is just a support unit of the attacking or invading infantry units.

Generally the Field Artillery is located some fifteen or twenty miles behind the front lines. So it would be considered safer. The exception is in a fluid situation, when the lines are advancing or falling back quickly.

You are forgetting, as stated above, in terms of us every actually finding an army "our own size" They DO have thier own artillery and Air Force(if they manage to fly over Artillery guys that is)

Put it this way. What would you do if you had to face another army as well trained and well equiped as we are? Perhaps then the safest position and mos would be on the other side of the moon.
