this is in the wrong catagory; but it is a fungus (sometimes with a bacterial component) and medication is the only way to get rid of it. You can get oral (pills) and/or a creme for it. It can be spread by contact as well, so be careful with your clothes.

Hey don't worry, my brother is just getting over a case of ringworm. Over the counter creams work pretty well. If you have a cat, you may be getting the ringworm from him. If you do have a cat, maybe you should wash all of your sheets and pillows and stuff in case he tracked dirty litter onto them. Anyways, lotromin and tinactin work pretty well. They are antifungal creams that also work on athletes foot. My grandpa once said that another way to cure ringworm was to apply clear nail polish to the infected areas. I tried it once and it cleared up a few spots. You can try it. Hopefully it works, but it may irritate your skin a little. Wash it off shortly afterword. Good luck clearing it up for summer and short sleeves!

Scrub the area with an Iodine solution, then apply any over-the-counter fungicide, as for Athletes foot, three times a day for a week.
