feel free to argue againt my view or support me.. but does anyone else realize my point?

i forgot one thing... i'm not saying that all iraqis are bad... some are merely misled... and if i ever went to iraq to fight then i would fight not only to protect my country but to protect the innocent in iraq and to help them

I am constantly amazed at how many people have an opinion of the war in Iraq, act like the know what they are talking about, and haven't stepped foot in the place.

I worked in Iraq from 2003-2005 on the infrastructure and humanitarian aid. If I related some of the things I saw of the torture, hunger, and poverty it would bring tears to the average person's eyes.

And yet, there are still those out there who have no personal knowledge of what is going on there spewing withdrawal rhetoric like so much garbage from their mouths.

Yes, I have strong feelings about Iraq. But I have been there, have you? I lived with Iraqis and found them to be kind and compasionate people. I still receive emails daily from some of them.

Basically, the US has given you the right to speak against the war. It doesn't mean you have to.

I think any 'sane' person - Liberal or Conservative - wants a good outcome in Iraq, i.e. peace and stability.
But, two factors weigh heavily against this result:
1. The US is fighting a bunch of lunatics.
2. The Commander-in-Chief of the 'good guys' doesn't have the faintest notion how to wage this 'war' (actually, it is a 'civil war') should be fought.
So, isn't it time to pull out?

Because they're ignorant and hate bush, the American Public (especially much of the south) as a whole is very stupid. I agree with you. We had to go to war as retaliation for what happened on 9/11 war can't be declared out of disdain so with very minor intelligence of WMD ( 500 canisters of hazardous biochemical materials were found); Bush saw an opening to go to war and to defeat the tyranny of Saddam. Since we are there now, we can't just live Iraq to fend for itself; it would be like taking children's parents away and just leaving them there. Iraq would become a place of catastrophic destruction, and we would be responsible for it. We have to remain in Ira1 until it is entirely stable.

I agree with you.

Set aside any differences you may have with the administration over going in there and you will see that this is in our interest now.

It is also a moral obligation now. When we left Vietnam in much the same political environment that is being ginned up here, many people died. Their deaths were directly related to our pullout, and our pullout was optional.

We need to finish this thing now. Stop tying the hands of our troops and let them win. If we do not succeed now, we will most certainly have to go back. And when we go back there will be much more at stake.

I agree with you. We can't just pick up and leave Iraq. We need to slowly pull out troops. 80 service women and 3000 and some military men and marines have died in Iraq. The reason why so many women have died is becasue there is no front line in Iraq. It is illegal for the US to put women on the front line, but we don't know where the next bomb is going to explode.

If the coalition forces are pulled out, you can expect alquida and telebon will be coming here. My info. is that the Iraq's that came here to live are the ones responsible for the mayhem against our government, to creat a disaray to get our troops out so that oil rich country can reweapon and destroy the free world. Their a suisidal waste.

I think that if the US pulls put now there will be serious repercussions (not that it's all great now) unfortunately I don't think that the govt thought they would still be there and that it would be able to control the situation alot more quickly than they have. It's a very unfortunate circumstance and I wish it wasn't happening.

I doubt that we will ever leave there 100% because we still have troops over in Vietnam and Germany...How long ago did those wars end?...We can pull the majority of our troops out but only after we have fully reached our objective over there.

I do.

It is because most people have an opinion on the war without actually knowing anything about it. They think that we can just leave and that means there will not be anymore fighting.

If we were to leave we would just be back in a few years with an even bigger problem.

I think it is all sad! There are people over there getting killed, women and children that are suffering. And now everybody says pull out.
I think that we went over there and made a mess, and we should clean it up. But as soon as we leave, they are going to be a mess again on their own.
So I think that we should stop trying to solve other countries probs and focus on our own!
We also need to take care of the THOUSANDS of troops that we sent over there and they came home and are not getting the quality care that they need!!!
