I believe in one gospel, Jesus said to John to take Mary into his household ("behold your mother"), so John at least was also there.

Those we know were present:
John 19: 25-27....Near the cross of Jesus stood his mother, his mother's sister, Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary Magdalene. When Jesus saw his mother there, and the disciple whom he loved standing nearby, he said to his mother, "Dear woman, here is your son," and to the disciple, "Here is your mother." From that time on, this disciple took her into his home.
The disciples abandoned Jesus when he was arrested the evening before (same event as your quote from Matthew):
Mark 14:50-52...Then everyone deserted him and fled. A young man, wearing nothing but a linen garment, was following Jesus. When they seized him, he fled naked, leaving his garment behind.
The Gospels tell us that John and Peter followed Jesus (at a distance) back to the place of Jesus' trial. During the course of the evening several people began to recognize Peter as one of Jesus' followers. Peter, fearful that he would be arrested, denied that he even knew who Jesus was. When Peter realized how he had abandoned & betrayed Christ, he left the courtyard weeping.
While it is likely that those listed in John 19 were the only close followers present at the crucifixtion, we simply cannot say for sure. We do know that the disciples were terrified, dazed, and confused by Jesus' arrest, torture, and death. They likely thought that "they were next on the list" and they were all in hiding. However, people sometimes paint things a little too `black and white' when they read the Bible. That is, just because the narrative doesn't mention other people doesn't mean that there weren't others present. We know who was mentioned in the text....beyond that we can't say for sure.
are not told of any others

John was there: "Chapter 19 vs. 26-27: "When Jesus saw His mother and the disciple there whom He loved, He said to His mother, "Woman, behold, your son." Then He said to the disciple, "Behold, your mother." And from that hour the disciple took her into his home.

Yes they all forsook him except “the disciple whom Jesus loved” (aka Mary Magdalene).

Yes, St John (the "catholic apostle") who stood besides Mary at the crucifiction, and took care of her after Jesus died.
"Jesus said woman behold your son. Mary said, son behold your mother."
