I'm planning a trip to Banos, Ecuador. I was looking on the internet and I read that Puyo is easy to get to from Banos by mountain bike or scooter. I have a few questions:
1 Is Puyo worth seeing or are there better places I should bike to?
2 I heard that if I were to come back from Puyo and didn't want to bike, busses can pick you up and carry the bike on top. Is this true?
3 I am not inoculated for Malaria. Is this going to be a problem if I were to visit a jungle town such as Puyo or is the risk of catching malaria small?

Thanks a lot!!!

a few years ago Mountain Biking Magazine did an article about someone who biked though Ecuador and Peru. at the time my older sister and i were biking 25 miles on the weekends. The scenaery was impressive and it made you want to go and do the trip. You could check this out at the library by asking them to check the references for old magizines.
