I met this guy at my graduate school.We began talking and flirting while I was in a 7 year relationship ( which he was aware of).So my bf founds out about our "flirtations" and told this guy off.I stopped speaking to the guy, but kept emailing him on and off.He never answered promptly, though.A few months later, while I was walking by the library, he saw me and quickly ran to me.He was filled with elation and so was I .I gave him a peckon the cheeks to greet him.He complimeted me on how I looked that day.ASked me about my careers plans, my classes, etc.Then, he sent me a message stating how he was happy to see me and that he's glad everything is working for me.Is he interested again, suddenly? How do I find out without looking bad, as im still with the guy I cheated on?

I think there are several questions you need to ask yourself.
1. Why do consider it cheating if nothing physical happened?
2. I think the fact that you even used that term shows that you know it's not innocent. There seem to be feelings there - more than just flirtations.
3. Clearly, he was thrilled to see you. The fact that he backed off originally is only testament (I think) to him knowing it was inappropriate and that he was "macking" on another dude's lady.
4. Most importantly, YOU were thrilled to see him. What's up with that?
It sounds to me that you might have feelings for this guy. Maybe you're in a rut in your current relationship. Maybe you're just curious. I just believe though that this having continued over time, and you two reuniting after many months and still being as enthused about one another...I think that does not bode well for your current relationship. And I would handle your BOYFRIEND first, before disrespecting yourself, your boy, and this dude by moving forward when everything else isn't handled.

You don't find out. You keep the emails and leave it alone. The guy probably didn't email promptly because he doesn't want any drama.

if you want to stay with the guy you are with you dont need to find out. however you sound very interested in this other guy. you need to decide want you want, he sounds interested but if you try to find out for sure you could risk the one your with. decide first what you want.
