pay for failing a class? I have never heard of this before & I have FASFA finacial aid so what's going on?

They told me I am on acedmic probation & that I have to "discuss this" with my new financial aid counselor.

That is a possibility they can also revoke your financial aid for future semesters I believe.

If you fail your classes or class your financial aid will be held by the school. They will put you on probation until you can prove that you are doing better in school. I really don't know if future financial aid is held up but maybe you can re-apply the next school year. I know it's a while until you can get the financial aid back.

If you fail a class you will be put on academic probahtion.
You may have to fill out a form in financial aid office stating why you failed and how you are going to make up the cost of the class, for example go to summer school. They want you to say you will pay for that class yourself. This happened to me several times, but I never paid for a class. I just filled out the paperwork and went on my way.

For more information please go to the financial aid office of your college and ask to speak with a financial aid counselor.

Yes, they can. It is better to withdraw from a class that you are failing than to fail the class for that reason.
