Salaam Sister,if you have piercing, its okay depending on how it could be interepted,a tongue peircing can be considered 'saucy',and you will get all type of comments( I had my tongue pieced before) ,the question really is,is it suitable?I would say no because of how socity views that and what type of comments you will recieve.I think its macroo anyway(disliked).Check with an imam. to 100% sure. And for anyone who says you should repent, thats not true because you have not done a wrongful action,Allah is most gracious, most merciful.

It depends on how an individual views piercings:
If a piercing is a disfigurement or injury you cause upon yourself then you are damaging the work of Allah and this is not allowed.
If you see piercings as adornments like clothing or hairstyles then you are not damaging the body Allah made you so then it is allowed.
There are many different views and traditions in Islam. Some Muslim women wear veils to cover their faces, others just dress modestly in other ways. Some Muslims consider it unclean not to shave off all their pubic hair, others let this hair grow because it is a natural part of their bodies.
If I were you I would read the holy Quran to see what you think the Prophet (PBUH) is telling you about this and do what you think is best based upon the information.

I have never come across a question like this before but I find it extremely doubtful. Tattoos are not allowed so I'm pretty sure those wouldn't be. I suggest you go search or if you can ask this on a reliable Islamic site. Islamonline.net has a section where you can ask or find questions like this if your not sure. They have very respectable imams and scholars that could give you the info. They also have a forum board to ask other muslims. Hope you find the answer.

yes you are allowed to get piercings
as long as you do not mutilate the body.
example: excessive piercings.
in fact I'm getting my nose pierced soon
i am pretty sure tattoos aren't allowed either but this is debatable for some.
EDITING:
I'm editing after reading half of these people responses.
holy crap this is possibly the simplest question on here..yet people are still so ignorant.
I can assure you that it is fine. During Ramadan my family invited other families for iftar. We invited a sheik that we knew very well. Then everyone started to ask him Q's so i asked him this question..and he said what i said above.
please don't listen to these ignorant people..whoa rent even Muslim and have no idea what they are talking about.

your question should surely be to yourself about how devoted to the tradition of being a muslim you are, just be true to yourself...if you asked if it was ok in your religion to kill, would you do it?
if you want to get this piercing and you dont think it will affect your faith, go for it...if you feel the need to ask, you have probably answered your own question!
religion/faith should be absolutely personal
i'd like to know what you decide

good question.
probably depends on which branch of Islam. I'm sure the Wahabbis say no, Sufis probably don't care.
I've know Indonesians and Malaysians and Turks that are pierced.
but I'm not Muslim, I don't know.

aziz is FUNNY...
but do what you want. no one is going to stop you. for you to even think of getting it done means something, if you want to ask an imam then you wouldn't have questioned the fact if you wanted to get it done or not (if you get my jist)
