How to get motivated -
Think of how much better you'll feel about life and yourself.
Exercise with a buddy - anyone. You can motivate each other, as well as having company.
Do something you enjoy, anything! (Dancing, swimming, biking, walking (shopping even), yoga/pilates, bowling, tennis, volleyball, weight lifting, the list is endless).
How to stay motivated-
Reward yourself - once you have an exercise program figured out (what you want to do, what days you want to do them and for how long), stick to it. If you are new to exercising, a weekly (small) reward would be best. If you follow your schedule, give yourself a small treat that you will ONLY get if you complete it (a favorite dessert, rent a movie, whatever).
If you think you could go a little longer without a reward (some people can get motivated for a month or two, then fail) - reward yourself every month with a little bigger reward (favorite restuarant, girls/guys night, night away from the kids, a *insert money limit* shopping spree)
I dont suggest both a weekly and a monthly, but if you want that bigger reward, maybe week 1 and 2 smal reward, week 3 no reward and week 4 a bigger reward.

Make a schedule and stick to it. Get into a routine of going on certain days and certain times. Then do your best to stick to it as if it was one of your college classes you had to attend. This way you aren't giving yourself the option of not going.
I find the more I go the more likely I am stick to it, but if I take a few days off then it's harder to get back in the gym. A body in motion tends to stay in motion!
You might also try things like Rice cakes, etc. This way when your looking for a quick snack you have other options. Smaller meals more often will help. It boosts your metabolism and keeps you from overeatinng.
Limit soda's and sugary drinks, those are just added calleries. Try getting some of those crystal light mini packs that go in a bottle of water. Special K has them too now and that helps.
Grab a buddy, get a work out partner or partners there are others in your situation I am sure. If you can't find a friend to go with you then post a bulletin at school and see if you the two of you can work with eachother to motivate eachother to go. It's more fun that way anyway. :)

Here are some ideas to help you get back to where you want to be:
1. Start a morning or afternoon exercise routine. Set a time around your class schedule (before breakfast, lunch, etc..). Walk, do some calisthenics, run, go to the gym...whatever...but make that time-slot fitness time and try to stick to it 4-5 days per week.
2. Look at what your eating and see what you could cut back on. In college, I added this whole other meal around 10pm (pizza, wings, etc...)...I'm pretty sure that contributed my freshman-15. See how your habits shifted and try to cut back on a few of the bad ones. Pizza night is still fun...you don't have to cut it out completely ;-).
Check out the website beow for exercise, fitness, & running tips. Hope that helps. Best of luck!

I still find that having a dedicated friend that goes with you it the most motivating thing.
Especially if that person is very motivated.
