Ok, I live in colorado and I'm visiting my sister up in montana. Anyway, my sister has to work and so I'm hanging out with my husband and her husband. Now, they are having a mens bible study that I can't be in because I'm female. I think it's kind of insensitive. I'm now secluded in the guest room with my laptop because I'm not male. This bible study usually last literally 3 hours. Am I overreacting? I'm just mad because I'm forced into the guest room with practically nothing to do for 3 hours straight. I can't leave because I don't know my way around town...

Well... looks like as your relatives cannot be gracious hosts, and be thoughtful about your presence, then you will have to gracefully retreat, wait and next time do not accept an invitation to their home, without knowing and planning exactly what you and your husband will do. I assumed your husband had to join this bible meeting, as he was a guest at the house, so no way out.
Make the best of this situation! Answer and help some others through this website! Smile! it could be worse.

Does your husband actually do this Bible studies, where you live at??
How long have you being married???
If I were you, sweetie, I would look into this seriously!!!
Because if this is the way is going to be and you will be excluded from it all the time, you need more than an explanation form your loving husband. Especially, if he doesn't practice this 3 hours, of study Bible, when he is back home!!!

I thought sexist males went away during the women's movement! I guess not! I dont agree with banning a woman from anything just because she is a women. ESPECIALLY A BIBLE STUDY!!!!! THat is rediculous. Muslims often seperate males from females to decrease sexual tention in a holy place and keep the focus on religion....but I doubt your husband will want to jump your bones during a three hour bible study! Stupid! THere is no point to that. Religion and prayer should be shared with your spouses and just because they have a penis doesnt make it right to segregate you from the activities. If I were you- i would raise hell because THAT is unexceptable!

While, I think bible studies are great; they are being rude by excluding you. I am in two bible studies a week. One is a women's study, but we meet at a church not in a home where men feel excluded. The second one has both men and women.
I believe it is fine to have separate men's and women's studies, but being that you were the only other one there, they could have had a bible study including you or waiting until your sister came home, so that you and she could do something.
I believe in bible studies, but they should not use a bible study as a reason to exclude anyone.

Why r u just sitting there? Have ur bro-in-law take u around & show u places of interest to U, then when they have their Bible Study, u can get out & go someplace. A museum, a movie, anyplace u can go & enjoy urself, without getting lost. Think about it. lol

It is extremely rude of them. I quit one church because they had an all male bible study class. I refuse to support chauvinism in ANY form and so should your husband.
Also, you are visiting a different city with your husband, and he ignores you to do this? It is insensitive and rude. You need to tell him that he should be devoting his time to you, or at least doing things that involve you, not exclude you.
