Try adding orajel, but I really think part of feeling better is holding still, so the blood doesn't pump so hard, getting your mind on something else, and eating softer diet so you don't "bump" it. Antibiotics take three days to relieve enough infection the tooth doesn't throb. Call your pharmacists and ask what you can take in between the Tyleniol 3 ie asprin every four hours, tylenol every four alternating 2 hours difference. Sometimes you need the extra kick. If all else fails alcohol works good on tooth pain, but be very careful with Tylenol3. You want to really be in a lot of pain to mix them. And don't drive!

Well, you didn't say how old you are. A sure fire way is to take a slug of rye whiskey and turn your head sideways so that the whiskey lays on the tooth. Hold it there as long as you can stand the burning. You can then swallow the whiskey or spit it out. I don't drink so I used to spit it out. You will notice that the area is numb. This will also kill the infection. If you have an abscessed tooth, doing this enough times will eventually kill the nerve. Good luck, there are few things as painful as a toothache.

I had all 4 of mine extracted and they were impacted. My face swelled for about 4 days and the pain lasted about 2 weeks. Just rest a lot and garggle salt water when possible. It tastes pretty bad but def. works. Hope you feel better soon!

warm salt water rinse, ibuprofen (advil, motrin etc.) and warm compresses will all help decrease the inflammation. The antibiotics will help with the abscess/infection but you need to see your dentist ASAP. You may need a root canal treatment.

The tooth is not inflamed. The surrounding tissue is. Try an oral/topical pain reducer that you can apply to the gums.

why don't you try ibuprofen instead of the tylenol. Sometimes
