I know there was a war in Heaven and a third of the angels fell. So that tells us that God created a race of beings prior to the creation of humanity, right?

But why did God create us?

I like your question. The Bible states that "God is Love" and that "God is light" and "God is good and doeth good". What I'm trying to say is that the essential character of God is Good. We can be joyful about that. Also, we can be sure that when he created the universe (and us) he meant it for Good. He has our best interest in mind.

Now, repopulating heaven may have been his reason. However, I think the "why" in your question is because He Loves to have loving beings nearby!!! Thus, he created us with the potential to live eternally with him!!

I think He created us for company - as beings he could interact with in some different way from the angels - and out of love for His ideas of an infinitely varied creation for us to enjoy the beauty of. Then one of the fallen angels - out of jealousy - insinuated his way into it, and things really got out of hand. That's when God began planning a way to bring us back to Him, by helping us remember His love for us - that He created this world perfect for us, and we can help Him get it back that way by responding to Him in love, and resisting the deceiving angel. He finally came to earth as Christ, as a demonstration of how we could do this - and left us His Holy Spirit as a guarantee and guide for anyone who wants to be part of this great work.

Just because.

Are you expecting a real, unchanging and provable answer to this question? Last time I checked there isn't one.

We do not know the mind of God - and while it says that God loves us in the bible, or that God created us for friendship, servents etc in other religions, we still don't really know.

A third of gods angels went with god ,another third went with the devil ,a third was undecided .That is where we and every child born comes in. We are here to make a choice. To choose god or the devil ,every day is a lesson -Who do you choose? Thats the question of life.

Depends on who you ask. As a solipsist, it was actually I who created everything. But, lol, that's just my opinion. There may not be a god. But if there is- ask yourself why. Why DID she create human beings? Is it because he wanted a representation of herself on his world? Or is because she was vain? Who knows mate. But remember- all people are entitled to their opinions. So instead of attacking you and telling you that I think you're wrong- I'm instead trying to explain my side, etc. Good luck on figuring it out, mate.

For the same reason that anyone buys a pet. We cherish life and do not want to spend it alone. We desire interaction. Afterall what good would it be to have an entire universe of stars and planets but with no actual lifeforms? It would be dull.

I never believe God created us. There are a whole lot of other wonders that occurred before that happened. Evolution happened because of different energies that lay in outer space.

God created servants for himself (angels). He created us so that he could have a closer relationship not of a slave and master variety, but rather a father and child relationship.

If God is all-powerful, why does he need pleasure? Can't he just simulate it in his head? Or create a race with free will and intelligence, which wouldn't fall for that stupid story about the snake?

Christian God is one dumb man.
