Does anyone have any solid proof? Besides the internet?

I have pretty bad allergies and am not the least bit bothered by my black cat. I can rub him on my face.

It all has to do with whether the cat has fur or hair (mine has hair), how much dander the cat produces (cats with dry skin produce more), and how well the cat grooms him/herself.

Color has nothing to do with it.

There are products in the pet store that can moisturize the cat's skin causing less dander production. Vacuuming regularly also helps.

nope, it actually might be the other way around. my mom is allergic to cats, we have 4. 2 light, 2 dark, when she sleeps with the light ones, she has more allergy problems than the dark ones. i dont know, it probably is some other factors too. but i dont think it is at all true.

If you are allergic to cat fur it wouldn't matter the color.
