I work out 5 nights a week for 1 1/2 - 2 hours...running, kickboxing, resistance machines, bike. I eat decent (varying between 1700 and 2100 calories and 25-30 grams of fiber per day), but I'm hungry ALOT and I've gained about 5 pounds since December. What am I doing wrong and how can I fix it??

You're probably burning a lot of calories and adding on more muscle. Besides all the exercise you're doing, muscle can actually burn calories when you're not exercising. Make sure you're getting the proper vitamins and other nutrients, but if you want to speed up the weight loss process, add more vegetables to your diet. Most of them are negative calories (meaning your body burns more calories digesting the food than the food actually has) so you can eat larger quantities and help suppress hunger. You should also try lean protein, since your body is trying so hard to build muscle. Good luck!

You should never count calories. Yea everyone does and America is now the fattest society to ever to exist. Nourish your body thin, instead of starving your body fat. Good carbs like celery and carrots will never make you fat. Bad carbs like cake will, but you don't need to know the whole science of glycemic load. You need to re-learn how to eat so you can become thin and healthy. Salt has no calories but makes you fat and burning more calories does not help this fatness.

You can force your body to lose weight with not enough calories, but if you continue it, you will starve to death. With an abundance of healthy foods, you lose weight just as fast, but only until you reach your ideal weight. You can continue eating this way the rest of your life and always be at your ideal weight.

Eat foods that digest very slowly; such as banannas, apples, almonds, canned white chicken breast, oranges, carrots, and eat one of each item every 3-4 hours. Also, do the resistance machines every OTHER day. The body needs rest. And instead of running and kickboxing, try doing jumping jacks.
This aerobic exercise works the entire body. Be sure to include stretching daily in your exercises.

You probably gained muscle mass which is denser than fat. It is quite possible that your percentage body fat is lower than when you started. Instead of the scale, use a tape measure to measure your progress and I am sure that you will find the measurements to be more encouraging. I am willing to bet than none of your clothing sizes are listed in pounds. Here is more info:)

You are hungry because you are burning up a lot of calories. You've gained weight because you've put on muscle tissue.
I bet you look and feel great!
